I would love to…to have a clean slate to start a new season, everything fresh and shiny and newly organized… But who has the time?
This year, I have decided that Spring Cleaning needs to happen! And it is starting this week in my office!
Since my office is in my home, each week I spend a bit of time on Sunday’s straightening up my office so that I get a fresh start on Monday. This works pretty well except for the fact that I am just moving things around to make neat piles of “stuff” instead of getting rid of or addressing the “stuff”.
This week I’m going to spend at least 45 minutes each day going through all of the stacks of papers, notes, and pamphlets, that I have set aside to read “some day”… and actually do something with them!
I will either read and then file if appropriate, 3 hole punch and put into a binder for future reference, pay it if it’s a bill, generate an invoice if it is project time sheet, or throw it in the trash!
I am looking forward to actually putting all of my notes into a binder, categorized according to all of the training seminars and workshops that I have been taking, so that I can FIND the information when I need it.
Perhaps this inspiration and burst of Spring Cleaning energy will propel me on to other areas of the house when the office is done. Ok, Maybe that’s getting a bit carried away.
