It’s all a matter of how you look at it.
As a business owner it is sometimes easy to get caught up in the day to day tasks of running the business, and forget the reason that you ventured down the path in the first place.
I have always know that what ever path I chose in life it would need to allow me to be creative. When I was younger, this meant arts and crafts, in college I was presented with a multitude of creative options, as a newlywed, I loved the idea of decorating my first home, and shortly after a child’s nursery.
As my career progressed, and my family grew I found myself with less time to express my creative side… but it was still there. It showed itself in the way I wrapped the holiday gifts, set the table, decorated for parties and special occasions. Sure my work as a designer was creative, but it was done to please a client’s needs and tastes, not mine.
Recently I have made it a quest to get back in touch with the creative part of my own personality. Not only in participating in the making of art but also by opening my eyes to all of the creative things around me. Remembering to look at ordinary things in a different way. Learning to see beyond the obvious.Appreciating the art… and not just seeing the fruit.
So I ask you.. do you see the fruit or the art?
